Rowyn was born November 13, 2008, which fittingly is annual World Kindness Day - a day meant to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together. That is exactly who Rowyn was and forever will be. To know Rowyn was to love Rowyn.
On the morning of October 15, 2020, Rowyn's father took her life as she slept and then proceeded to take his own life; he hid his instability and struggle with mental health for months leading up to that morning from the very people that would have helped him.
Growing up in Charlottesville, Virginia Rowyn was a student at Tandem Friends School and an outstanding soccer player for the 2008 Richmond United ECNL team. She was an artist, baker, swimmer, animal lover, surfer, adventurer, explorer, TikTok’r, competitor, rock collector. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, teammate, and friend. She loved her people fiercely.
Those that know her will tell you she was kind to the core and always saw the good in everything she did and everyone she met. Rowyn would be the first person to help someone in need. She could light a room with her soft energy. She could make you smile even on your worst days. Rowyn was committed to being better than the day before. We are all better people for knowing, or even hearing about, Rowyn.
